I was not raised with a classical education, and I think there
are definite advantages to having been exposed to Latin in early childhood
education. Latin is seen, and used by
most English speaking people everyday, and some are not aware the words they are using have Latin origins.
I took Beginning Latin last semester at Washburn University, and I became
aware of Latin being used everywhere. Latin is used in education, legal, and scientific fields (as well as other areas I am not aware of at this time).
I am continuing with my Latin classes and I, thought a blog about this topic would be a good format
to explore the etymology of some English and Latin words.
